E até, já em tempos, perante uma Comissão qualquer,encabeçada pela UA,&amp;nbsp;espusémos a nossa opinião.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;Pólo 1&lt;/span&gt; – Museu da Ria - Criado no espaço circundante ao esteirinho da Malhada, ocupando a marinha adjacente, para o museu do Sal. Arranjo de espaço e pavilhão para as artes. Embarcações no seu elemento natural. Incluiria um pavilhão para o traje.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;Pólo 2-&lt;/span&gt; O actual MMI, fixado na pesca do Bacalhau, acrescentaria as embarcações de cabotagem (iates e outros),e a modelação naval.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;Pólo 3-&lt;/span&gt; Museu da Xávega : a implantar na Costa Nova, integrando um Armazém de Salga, artes, equipamentos e utensílios.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;Pólo 4&lt;/span&gt; – Arte : Integraria o Museu da Fábrica da Vista Alegre.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;Pólo 5 –&lt;/span&gt; Estação Arqueológica (situado à saída da ponte do Canal&amp;nbsp;de Mira). &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Este plano tem um ponto chave: &lt;strong&gt;a interligação entre Pólos museológicos poderia ser feita através da Laguna, o que dinamizaria o roteiro turístico.A ronda dos diversos Museus poderia ser oferecida como a «Rota dos Museus», &amp;nbsp;por água, porquanto todos os pólos poderiam ser acedidos através da Ria (excepto o actual MMI, que está a 500 da Ria, mas de fácil acesso complementar, combinado&lt;/strong&gt;).&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Conclusão: repetimos este é apenas o guião de um novo trabalho, aproveitando sugestões e duvidas levantadas pelos amáveis leitores.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;E para que fique claro: procurámos responder, sem intenção de criticar quem quer que seja.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Mesmo aqueles que parecem surpreendidos com algumas das nossas afirmações ,ou convicções, sabem que não é assim. A dimensão está totalmente desadequada, impedindo uma boa mostra das embarcações. Pouco digna da história lagunar. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;E quanto às classificações creio que muito haveria a fazer: &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Como acima dissemos o nome de &lt;strong&gt;«bateira erveira de Canelas&lt;/strong&gt;» deveria ser corrigido (unicamente e só) para &lt;strong&gt;«matola&lt;/strong&gt;».O &lt;strong&gt;«matola&lt;/strong&gt;» encheu os canais dos rios, Boco e Mira(dada a pequena altura da bica que lhe permitia passar sob as pontes da Calle da Vila, depois Juncal Ancho, e&amp;nbsp; logo após ponte de Água-Fria(rio Boco).E também das «Duas Águas», e mais além, da Vagueira, para atingir o Areão. Justificava-se assim plenamente estar lá, em vez da «erveira de Canelas», de todo afastada de Ílhavo. Também nos parece que o &lt;strong&gt;«chinchorro&lt;/strong&gt;» deveria, antes, ser substituído pela &lt;strong&gt;«labrega&lt;/strong&gt;».O &lt;strong&gt;«chinchorro»&lt;/strong&gt; é de outras águas ,enquanto a «&lt;strong&gt;labrega»&lt;/strong&gt; povoou todo o canal de Mira, Malhada, Gaf. Nazaré etc. A última das &lt;strong&gt;«labregas»&lt;/strong&gt; da Ria de Aveiro, está aqui a dois passos…a desfazer-se....porque não recuperá-la?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;E já que estamos com a mão na massa diremos que a &lt;strong&gt;«bateira de passeio&lt;/strong&gt;» não diz nada. Não há este tipo(?).Há sim «caçadeira» -que é o que a bateira &lt;strong&gt;Namy&lt;/strong&gt; é. Utilizada no passeio? E de momento não vejo possibilidade de alterar a situação.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"&gt;Claro que nesta Sala, talvez tivesse sido possivel utilizar uma «mistura» de novas técnicas para exposição deste tipo de Embarcações, de média dimensão.«Achapá-las» de qualquer modo,não creio que tenha sido a melhor solução.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"&gt;Mas isso é outra questão.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; «caçadeira» nas ervagens&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Contudo houve tipos de embarcações específicas para tal utilização:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2--3-1 – A Chata ou Patacha&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Embarcação muito simples, rudimentar, provavelmente das primeiras a atravessar os rios, muito antes da formação da laguna. De extremidades aguçadas, fusiforme, com uma bancada a meio que fixava a curvatura da tábua do costado, era movida exclusivamente à vara. Servia especificamente para travessia de rios ou na pateira. E de noite, silenciosamente, à vara, com ela faziam-se surtidas às terras ribeirinhas.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tinha uma boca excessiva, por isso parecendo muito gorda, comparada com a finura dos bicos da proa e ré. A de Lamy é uma embarcação de «bica»(sem castelo?).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A haver um tipo de embarcação erveira, designada por «marinhoa», não será difícil concluir que ela terá nascido no que habitualmente se chama a zona das marinhas, entre Estarreja e Murtosa. Terá sido(?)pois, uma bateira local (não um tipo).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Preferimos deixar em aberto e esclarecer ainda melhor, tentar encontrar referências.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Isto é pois o que numa visita muita rápida, tipo guião de algo que talvez mereça ser trabalhado, nos apraz de momento referir. Na «mercantela» a «draga» é apenas uma «sarreta» como existente nas bateiras (passando por baixo do traste). Assim quando se deslocava à vara, tinha duas tábuas, que montavam interiormente chamada «tábuas das tostes de correr», permitindo à tripulação caminhar ao longo da borda, empurrando a vara. E também nas ervagens. Sobre esta bateira recolhi o depoimento que chegou a ser utilizada na boca da barra na apanha de caranguejo, utilizando o sarilho.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Já no Séc.XX foram construídas, equipadas com draga e bordo(podendo assim ser designadas por «barcas mercantelas»).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Uma das suas utilizações mais referenciada era na apanha do berbigão (e outros bivalves). José mostra &lt;/strong&gt;. E mais: não conseguimos encontrar ninguém (construtores e velhos tripulantes) que admitissem a mesma estar equipada com remos. E explica o mestre que chegou a avisar do erro, mas (disse) ….&lt;em&gt;tinham lido em qualquer parte.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Ora é profundamente estranho, para não dizer outra coisa, que sendo o &lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;«matola»&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt; uma embarcação do Canal de Mira e do Canal do Boco, estes sim ligados às gentes de Ílhavo, a barca exposta no Museu esteja com o nome incorrecto (levando a confundir «bateira erveira de Canelas» com o «matola». Erro que urge corrigir a nosso ver, pois compete-nos guardar correctamente o nosso património, próximo. E ainda o facto de estas embarcações serem cobertas no castelo e na parte superior do bordo e draga, por casca de arroz espalhada sobre o breu. A distância entre centros de caverna, em todo o tipo destas bateiras (e restantes&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;)-um princípio característico da construção naval lagunar&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; - é de 0,44/0,45m podendo chegar aos 0,50m . A questão é que haveria que seleccionar.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Onde se poderá encontrar algo sobre as «bateiras»? … pergunta-nos um outro leitor, lamentando a falta de abordagem. Numa primeira e rápida resposta,direi que nos «Estudos Etnográficos» de D. José de Castro .&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;A nosso ver, contudo, precisando de algumas correcções (ou comentários).&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Vamos então a um pequeno rápido classificativo. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;(Damos assim o pontapé de saída para um novo trabalho versando as «Embarcações Que Tiveram berço na Laguna, II Parte – BATEIRAS LAGUNARES», recolhendo informações, fazendo modelos à escala, e depois desenhando em 2D,primeiro,e 3D depois, ficando com o «obra completa»).&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Desde logo: a observação sobre as embarcações lagunares foi sempre feita, olhando mais do que interpretando, estudando. Luís de Magalhães propôs uma classificação. Depois D. José de Castro, no seu admirável trabalho de recolha etnográfica apresenta algo diferente. E daí em diante fez regra, pois foi sucessivamente (cegamente!) evocado, citado e copiado. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;D José de Castro produziu, de facto, um notável trabalho etnográfico. Mas no aspecto classificativo, identificador das «bateiras», tem, a nosso ver, imprecisões que nos parecem evidentes. E daí em diante, como aquilo que registou foi transcrito até à exaustão sem um olhar crítico, interpretativo, tal ficou como certo. E o facto é que, em nossa modesta opinião, não está totalmente. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Quanto a nós a abordagem que nos parecer ser mais correcta será :&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;As «bateiras» produzidas na laguna poderão dividir-se em duas grandes categorias :&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;1-«Bateiras» da borda ou «bateiras» de mar.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;2- «Bateiras» de águas interiores&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Assim:&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;1 – «&lt;strong&gt;Bateiras» de Mar&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Dentro destas registemos o «chinchorro» ,a «ílhava » e a «esguicha».&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;1-1-Chinchorro.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;É uma bateira de bica, como todas as que labutaram na borda do mar. Foi um dos tipos que laborou no interior da Laguna antes (e depois) de ter laborado na borda do mar .&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Dentro deste tipo teremos de considerar a bateira usada entre S. Michaelis diz-nos ser grande a origem de vocábulos, árabes e normandos, infiltrados na camada latina.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mas certo é que muitos dos componentes das barcas da Laguna têm origem nessas duas línguas: &lt;em&gt;barca,mastro,quilha,leme,bordo,escota,rumo,içar, bolina&lt;/em&gt; são origem normanda. O mesmo para &lt;em&gt;bombordo&lt;/em&gt;. Concluo sem dificuldade, ser tal número elevado, certamente inflacionado (!).A ser verdade, a frota portuguesa nunca, nem no no Séc. XX, atingirá números&amp;nbsp; de tal monta. É pouco crível reunir-se, só para tal fim, um número de embarcações tão elevado.,à época. No século XIV Aveiro armava 5060 tonéis. Estas embarcações de que falamos teriam uma média de 60 a 100 tonéis. Não sendo impossivel&amp;nbsp;a evolução, é contudo dificil perceber que no séc.XVI(inicio), só para a pesca do bacalhau, se deslocavam cerca de 6000 tonéis.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Se compararmos tal armamento com a frota francesa, que nesse e nos séculos seguintes pescou naqueles mares, sem duvida a de muito maior expressão ,considerando o que os números disponíveis indicam , é de colocar algumas reservas ao número de embarcações indicado. font-size: large;"&gt;Arquitectura Naval Lagunar– Parte II &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red; font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Naturalmente que o livro&lt;strong&gt;«Embarcações que Tiveram Berço na Laguna» &lt;/strong&gt;suscitou (e ainda bem!) comentários, desacordos, algumas interrogações e variados pedidos de informação e esclarecimento.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Poderão algumas notas esclarecer o que ali deixei dito, e muito que lá não está.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Vamos pois tentar satisfazer a curiosidade dos leitores. Na longitude 40º 32’ 52’’ e latitude 8º 45’ 45’’.De vez, e julgo ser a primeira, e definitivamente, aqui fica referenciado .&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Hoje, acima da terra não existe nada. Mas seria bom proceder-se a escavação que identificasse as suas fundações.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Remeter a sua construção para uma idade mourisca sec IX a séc XI, parece-me excessivo. Pela simples razão de que com toda a certeza aquele local estaria, ainda então, coberto de água. XVII (o P. Resende também é dessa opinião),mais propriamente em 1643.De facto, em uma placa encontrada por aquela zona podia ler-se «&lt;strong&gt;ano 1643 rei de Portugal João 4º»&lt;/strong&gt;.Naquele período a Barra estaria junto da Vagueira (no local onde se viria a instalar a Quinta do Inglês)e o forte era o local onde se efectuaria o controlo aduaneiro.
